Mission Statement
To combat the meth epidemic by educating the community
about its dangers, preventing its spread, and providing treatment
resources to victims and all those affected while actively pursuing
the arrest and prosecution of persons facilitating the manufacture
and sale of methamphetamine.
How we got started
Fayette Meth Taskforce- a program of FACTOR~Fayette Alliance Coordinating
Teamwork, Outreach and Resources, is a community coalition that
was born out of a MethWatch seminar - Methamphetamines and The Community.
The seminar was designed to share what happens when this drug infiltrates
a community and what the community can do to combat it.
It is proven that addressing the methamphetamine problem at the
local level can, and has in many other areas:
- reduce meth use by youth
- increase public awareness that leads to
- increase in arrests
- decrease in lab seizures
- decrease in theft of precursor products from retail stores
- decrease in perceived availability of the drug
- increase in community safety
- increase in collaboration
These are all accomplished with no additional burden to any one
agency or organization, but rather it involves the support and direction
from many key stakeholders in the community
